Brecknock YFC 76th Annual Drama Festival

Last week Brecknock Federation of Young Farmers Clubs held their 76th Annual Junior Drama, Pantomime, Junior and Senior One plus competition at Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon.

297 members competed throughout the week, and I’m sure those who attended would agree the standards and the variety of talent was incredible.

On behalf of the Federation we would like to sincerely thank our Adjudicators of the week Mr Robert Meadows and John & Gemma James for giving up their time and judging the above competitions.

Thank you to our backstage stewards, Dyfed Watkins, Ryan Watkins, Peter Hope, Marc Williams, Steph Sweetingham and all county officials who worked extremely hard all week.

A big thank you must go to the Clubs, Members, Producers, Club Leaders, Parents and Supporters, without you Festival wouldn’t be possible.

The Kirsty Jones Memorial & Robert and Sharon Healey award for the Best Female Performance 16 years and under in the One Plus Competition went to Anest Sennybridge YFC, The Watkins Cup, Robert and Sharon Healey award for the Best Male Performance 16 years or under in the One Plus Competition went to Owain Sennybridge YFC.

The FUW Award for the Best Male Individual Performance 28 years or under in the Senior One Plus Competition went to Mollie Pontfaen YFC, FUW award for the Best Female Individual Performance 28 years or under in the Senior One Plus went to Iestyn Sennybridge YFC.

Congratulations to Pontfaen YFC on the winning the Mrs G Price Trophy in the Junior One Plus competition with their performance. “Let Us Entertain You” and to Sennybridge YFC on winning the BAFA Trophy in the Senior One Plus Competition with their Performance “Glow Up”.

Llandefalle YFC won the Junior Drama Competition with their Performance “Once Upon  Verdict” and winning the John De Winton Trophy.

The Zoe Mathias Photography Award for the Best Actor 18 Years or under went to Owain Troedrhiwdalar YFC, Williams Coaches Award for the Best Actress 18 years or under went to Darcy Pontfaen YFC. The Clee Tompkinson & Francis Award for the Best Actor 28 years or under went to Steffan Trecastle YFC. The Clee Tompkinson & Francis Award for the Best Actress 28 years or under went to Elin Sennybridge YFC.

Best Set was awarded to Builth Wells & Beulah YFC, Best Choreography was awarded to Erwood YFC Best Costume and Make Up award went to Trecastle YFC.

Congratulations to Samuel Erwood YFC on winning the Best Written and Best Production at this years Festival.

Congratulations to Erwood YFC on winning overall and will now go forward and represent the County at the Wales YFC Finals held on Saturday 22nd March in Llanelli, the Federation would like to wish you all the very best of luck.

Saturday we also, held our Junior and Senior Member of the Year competition, thank you to our judges Endaf and David for giving up their time to judge the competition. Congratulations to Abigail Sennybridge YFC on winning the Junior Section and Iwan Trecastle YFC on winning the Seniors. Both members will now go forward and represent the county at Wales finals.
