Stock Judging Day

On Sunday 20th October, we held our annual Stock Judging Day at Brecon Livestock Market by the kind permission of McCartneys Auctioneers.

 A total of 65 members competed in the Live Beef, Lambs, Commercial Ewes, Pigs and Animal Health Questionnaire competitions, was great to see over 40 junior members taking part.

 On behalf of the Federation we would like to sincerely thank McCartneys Auctioneers for hosting the event, all of our stock providers, Judges, Stewards, Timekeepers, Scorers and County Officials for giving up their time and ensuring the day ran smoothly and not forgetting Mo in Café for keeping up watered and fed.

 A huge thank you must go to our sponsors Hay & Brecon Farmers and NFU Cymru for their continued support.

 Congratulations to Dan Sennybridge YFC on winning the Robert Davies Shield for best Stock Judger 16 years or under. The Special Award shield was awarded to Ifan Trecastle YFC best Stock Judger 18 years or under. Cerys Sennybridge YFC was awarded the Sennybridge YFC Trophy for best Stock Judger 21 years and under and Elin Sennybridge YFC was awarded the Evan Morgan Sheild for best Stock Judger 28 years and under.

 Earlier that week we also held our annual Carcass Judging competition at W J Geroge Butchers, both Carcass and Live Stock Judging competitions were combined and Ifan Trecastle YFC was awarded the FUW Trophy for overall Junior Stock Judger of the Year and Elin Sennybridge YFC was awarded the Caleb Roberts Trophy for overall Senior Stock Judger of the Year.

 Congratulations to all individual and over all winners who will now go forward and represent the County and both English and Welsh Winter Fairs in November.
