YFC MEMBERS SET THE 4 STAND 9HR BRITISH LAMB SHEARING RECORD

On Friday 9th August 2019 four members of Brecknock YFC set the 4 stand 9hr British Lamb Shearing record with a total of 2654 lambs shorn. Congratulations to Lloyd Rees (Llandefalle YFC) who shore 725 lambs, Aled Jones (Troedrhiwdalar YFC) who shore 644 lambs, Hugh Prothero (Libanus YFC) who shore 635 lambs and Gerorge Gilbert (Llandefalle YFC) who shore 650 lambs. A massive achievement for you all.

Not only did the boys set the British record they have also set the National Federation of Young Farmers Record, and Brecknock YFC set the a record of the most heaviest wool bag to be received in the Brecon depo weighing a whopping 216 kilos, well done to our wool boys Eifion Phillips, John Phillips and Carwyn Pugh.

On behalf of the federation we would like to thank the sponsors, farmers, stewards, County officials and Bar staff for your support towards the event, Thank you to Rob, Tracy and family for hosting, Scooby and Mark for all hard work on the day and running up to the event. Thank you to Kim and Penny for helping me feed the boys all week and in the office.

And finally a massive thank you to John Price our County Chairman, you organised an outstanding day and gave the boys a brilliant opportunity and raised funds for our chosen charities (Brecknock YFC, MS Society, Welsh Air Ambulance, Prostate Cancer and the DPJ Foundation) which are very close to our hearts.
